Reading the numbers

Three money figures appear on the vault page and they mean different things.

Three figures, three meanings

Steam Market value$23,853
Acquisition cost$16,633
Lifetime creator fees$18,481
Lifetime fees is the largest because 10% of it never became a case.

Steam Market value is what the held cases would be worth at the current listing price. Acquisition cost is what the reserve actually handed over. Lifetime creator fees is everything the project has ever received, including the operations share.

Steam value is not cash

Money in a Steam wallet cannot be withdrawn to a bank account, and proceeds from a Community Market sale stay inside Steam. So the Steam Market value figure is a reference price for an inventory, and not a balance the project could spend or pay out.

This matters less than it might, because the reserve does not plan to sell. Rule 04 makes the whole question of redemption a season 2 problem at the earliest.
