The reserve holds one item: the CS20 Case.

Why one item

A reserve of assorted Counter-Strike items would need someone to decide what to buy every week, and every one of those decisions would look like discretionary trading with project money. One item removes the decision. The only question left is how many.

The CS20 Case commemorates twenty years of Counter-Strike, which makes the story easy to tell: the reserve preserves unopened CS history one case at a time.

A commodity, not a collectible

Steam treats weapon cases as commodities. Every unit is interchangeable, so the market page shows an order book instead of individual listings, and a buyer places an order at a price rather than picking a specific item. That is close to ideal for a reserve, because a purchase of 500 units is one decision and not 500.

What is sealed inside

Each case holds one of 17 skins, or the Classic Knife at 0.26%. The reserve will never find out which.

Why not skins

Knives and rifles carry floats, patterns and wear values, so two units of the same skin are not the same asset. Pricing a reserve of them means valuing each item by hand, which is slow, arguable, and impossible to audit from the outside. A sealed case has none of that. Every CS20 Case is the same CS20 Case until someone puts a key in it.
